Example Positions:

We have a variety of positions that need your help, you'll be able to select your preference after registration:

This is not a complete list, and more tasks will be required on the day. Take it as a guide.

You'll be given scheduled breaks during the day. If you have any questions about the roles, just ask the staff on the day, or reach out to us beforehand.

8am-10am - Setup:

PhysicalTaking directions

Setup in the morning is critical for the market. We need to move all the partitions and tables into position.

The venue this year is much larger, so we'll need a bigger setup team. Layout maps and direction will be given on the morning.

If you're physically able, this will be the biggest help you can give!

4pm-6pm - Packdown:

PhysicalTaking directions

At the end of the day, we'll need volunteers to help pack down the market.

The first hour will be light work, helping some traders dismantle their stalls.

The last hour will be helping move all the tables and partitions into a staging area for collection.

Roving guide:

SocialMobility Encouraged

Throughout the day we'll need volunteers to move around certain areas and make sure attendees are looked after.

Answering simple questions and keeping an eye on things.

If you don't have easy mobility we can accommodate.

Greeter:

Social

As a greeter, you'll be the first point of contact for attendees. Just outside the main doors, or in the welcome area.

You'll help them feel welcome and provide any necessary information.

Your friendly disposition will set the tone for the event.

Door management:

Direction

Directing people around certain areas. Making sure minors are attended to.

Making sure groups don't block exits or thoroughfares.

Intake (ride the line!):

SocialReading

To help the day progress smoothly, we pre-register attendees in the line, and at the rego-desk.

Simply checking ID's and tickets, then giving them a wrist-strap based on age.

Nothing difficult, and if you have any questions, just ask the staff.

Art show:

PaymentsOrganisationFull day task

This is a full-day paid role

We'll need a dedicated paid volunteer to handle the art show this year.

The items will already be logged and organised before the market

You'll need to take payments for any items bought through MFMM, and make sure everything is properly recorded.

Photo area:

There will be a photo area this year if we can organise it.

If you could help direct people on where to stand, and make sure no one gets walked into

Costume prep area:

We have a costume prep area this year.

You'll help attendees know where to go, and reminding them not to leave valuables behind.
